Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PopVax's tuberculosis vaccine is an investigational mRNA-based prophylactic candidate currently in the design phase of development. Utilizing PopVax's proprietary mRNA-encoded virus-like particle (VLP) platform, the vaccine delivers genetic instructions for cells to produce and assemble VLPs that mimic the structure of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* or display its key antigens. This approach is designed to combine the potent immunogenicity of VLP-based vaccines with the rapid scalability and flexibility of mRNA technology. The program is currently undergoing design and early preclinical evaluation, with a Phase 1 clinical trial projected to begin in 2029.
