Porcilis PCV

**Porcilis PCV** is a veterinary vaccine developed by MSD Animal Health for the active immunization of pigs against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2). It contains a PCV2 ORF2 subunit antigen (≥3720 AU per 2 ml dose) formulated as an opalescent white emulsion with mineral oil adjuvant, administered intramuscularly in the neck to reduce viraemia, virus load in blood and lymphoid tissues, virus shedding, mortality, and weight loss associated with PCV2 infection during the fattening period. Onset of immunity is 2 weeks post-vaccination, with duration of 22 weeks; single-dose from 3 weeks of age or two-dose schedule (3-5 days and 2-3 weeks later) for high maternal antibody levels.[1][2][3][7]
