Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a veterinary vaccine developed by The Vaccine Group (TVG) for the prevention of porcine cysticercosis, a parasitic infection in swine caused by the larval stage of the tapeworm *Taenia solium*. The vaccine utilizes TVG's proprietary herpesvirus-based viral-vector platform to deliver and express *Taenia solium* antigens within the host. By inducing a targeted immune response, the vaccine aims to prevent the establishment of cysticerci in pig tissues, which is a critical step in breaking the transmission cycle of the parasite to humans. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
