Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Porcine greater omentum extract (pGOEs) is an aqueous extract derived from the greater omentum of domestic pigs [4230]. It is enriched with various growth factors, including hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), as well as antioxidant proteins such as superoxide dismutase, peroxiredoxin, and hemopexin [4230]. Developed by researchers at Gyeongsang National University, pGOEs has demonstrated therapeutic potential for liver regeneration and the treatment of liver injuries by promoting hepatocyte proliferation and stimulating cell cycle progression [4230].
