Overview

PORT-5 is a preclinical virus-like drug conjugate (VDC) designed as a small-molecule or conjugated modulator of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway, initially developed by AlphaTON Capital and further advanced by Portage Biotech for oncology indications such as solid tumors. By modulating STING, a central cytosolic DNA sensor that drives type I interferon and pro‑inflammatory cytokine production, PORT-5 is intended to enhance innate immune activation within the tumor microenvironment and promote anti-tumor immunity. As a VDC, the agent is engineered for targeted delivery and improved pharmacologic properties relative to unconjugated STING agonists, with development currently at the preclinical stage.[1]
