Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Posterisan Forte is a topical antihemorrhoidal combination therapy containing hydrocortisone and an inactivated Escherichia coli bacterial culture suspension (bacterial lysate). Originally developed by Dr. Kade and marketed in various regions by partners such as AGP SPVI and Maruho, the formulation is designed to treat symptoms associated with hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal eczema, and pruritus ani. Hydrocortisone, a topical corticosteroid, provides rapid anti-inflammatory, antipruriginous, and vasoconstrictive effects to reduce swelling and itching. The inactivated E. coli component acts as a local immunostimulant, activating pattern recognition receptors (such as Toll-like receptor 4) to stimulate local immune responses, promote tissue repair, and protect against secondary infections.
