potassium dobesilate

Potassium dobesilate is a synthetic small molecule drug that acts as an inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and its receptor (FGFR). By selectively binding to and blocking FGF activity and interfering with FGF-FGFR interactions, it inhibits FGFR-mediated signaling pathways. This results in the inhibition of angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation and induces cell death in FGFR-overexpressing tumor cells. Topical formulations have been investigated for skin disorders such as actinic keratosis and plaque psoriasis. The drug has also shown anti-tumorigenic effects in preclinical models and early clinical studies. It was initially developed by DermAct Pharmaceutical.
