potassium phosphates injection

Potassium phosphates injection is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, concentrated solution containing a mixture of monobasic potassium phosphate and dibasic potassium phosphate in water for injection. It is indicated as a source of phosphorus to correct hypophosphatemia in adult and pediatric patients when oral or enteral replacement is not possible, insufficient, or contraindicated. It is also used as an additive in parenteral nutrition formulas to provide phosphorus and potassium. The injection must be diluted before intravenous administration, and patients should be monitored for serum phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium levels to avoid complications such as hyperkalemia or hyperphosphatemia.
