Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Potassium sodium dehydroandrographolide succinate (commonly known as Yanhuning) is a semi-synthetic diterpenoid lactone derivative of andrographolide, an active component extracted from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Andrographis paniculata*. It is widely approved and used in China as an injectable formulation for the treatment of viral pneumonia, viral upper respiratory tract infections, acute laryngitis, bronchitis, and tonsillitis. The drug exhibits potent anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and immunomodulatory properties. Mechanistically, it inhibits the NF-κB signaling pathway, suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6, and has been shown to bind with high affinity to Ras-related protein Rab-9A (RAB9A) to modulate macrophage-mediated inflammatory responses.
