Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Poterepatide (HDM1005) is a novel, long-acting synthetic peptide developed by Hangzhou Zhongmei Huadong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It functions as a dual agonist for the Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the Gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR). This dual agonism promotes insulin release, suppresses appetite, and improves glucose tolerance, leading to significant weight loss primarily through fat mass reduction. Poterepatide is currently in clinical development for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and obesity.
