Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Potravitug is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Memo Therapeutics AG for the treatment and prevention of BK virus (BKV) infection and BK virus nephropathy (BKVN) in kidney transplant recipients. Discovered using the proprietary DROPZYLLA® platform, the antibody targets the VP1 capsid protein of the BK polyomavirus. By binding to VP1, potravitug blocks the virus from attaching to and entering target cells, thereby neutralizing the infection and preventing graft dysfunction or loss. It has received FDA Fast Track designation and has demonstrated clinical activity in reducing viral loads in Phase II trials, with Phase III development planned for 2026.
