Overview
Poulvac Procerta HVT-ND is a **recombinant live viral vector veterinary vaccine** developed by Zoetis for chickens to prevent **Marek's disease** and **Newcastle disease**. The product uses a **live recombinant herpesvirus of turkey** backbone engineered to express the **fusion protein of Newcastle disease virus**, allowing the HVT vector both to function as a Marek's disease vaccine and to deliver Newcastle disease antigen. It is administered **in ovo** or by **subcutaneous injection at hatch**, is intended to provide early protection in poultry production, and has been described as avoiding reactions associated with conventional live Newcastle disease vaccines while not being significantly affected by maternal antibodies. It can also be co-administered with Poulvac Bursaplex in hatchery vaccination programs.
