Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HEALER (also known as HEALER-Ointment) is a topical combination ointment developed by Thrift Pharmaceuticals for wound healing and the prevention and treatment of skin and soft tissue infections. It is a fixed-dose combination containing three active ingredients: povidone iodine (an antiseptic), sucralfate (a cytoprotective wound-healing agent), and tinidazole (an anaerobic antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent). Povidone iodine provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity by releasing iodine to oxidize and denature microbial proteins. Tinidazole targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by damaging their DNA, while sucralfate forms a protective physical barrier over the wound bed, promoting granulation tissue formation and epithelial regeneration. This triple-action formulation is indicated for the management of complicated wounds, cuts, abrasions, minor burns, diabetic foot ulcers, and pressure sores.
