Pozdeutinurad is a highly potent and selective next-generation small molecule inhibitor of urate transporter 1 (URAT1), developed for the treatment of gout and tophaceous gout. It is designed to lower serum uric acid (sUA) levels by inhibiting URAT1 in the kidney, thereby increasing renal excretion of uric acid. Pozdeutinurad has demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing sUA levels and resolving tophi both as monotherapy and in combination with allopurinol. Clinical data show rapid and sustained resolution of urate crystal volume with long-term use up to 18 months, maintaining sUA below target thresholds without significant renal or hepatic safety signals.
