PPARγ siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to specifically silence the expression of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) gene. PPARγ is a ligand-activated transcription factor and a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily that plays a central role in adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and the regulation of inflammatory responses. In biomedical research, PPARγ siRNA is extensively utilized as a laboratory tool to investigate the molecular mechanisms of various pharmacological agents. By knocking down PPARγ expression, researchers can determine whether the therapeutic effects of a drug—such as the anti-inflammatory properties of glimepiride, the anti-fibrotic effects of myricetin, or the cholesterol-regulating activities of mangiferin—are dependent on the PPARγ signaling pathway.
