pPML7789 is a DNA vaccine construct used in preclinical and early clinical research, primarily as part of trivalent or multivalent vaccines targeting viral antigens. It is designed for use with particle-mediated epidermal delivery (PMED) systems. The construct encodes viral antigens, including those from Orthomyxoviridae such as influenza virus, and is intended to induce an immune response against these pathogens. The vaccine platform allows for the insertion or replacement of different coding sequences to target various viral strains[5]. Preclinical data suggest its application in generating hemagglutination inhibition antibodies specific for H3, H1, and B influenza viruses when administered via PMED[5].
