Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PPMXT001 is a human monoclonal antibody directed against the transferrin receptor (TfR), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein essential for intracellular iron uptake and cell proliferation. Developed by Perseus Proteomics, the antibody is designed to treat malignancies where TfR is overexpressed, such as pancreatic cancer. PPMXT001 functions by inhibiting the growth of tumor cells and eliciting antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). In preclinical studies, it demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity, including the complete suppression of tumor growth in MIAPaCa2 pancreatic cancer xenograft models.
