Overview

PPMXT002 is a human monoclonal antibody directed against the transferrin receptor (TfR), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein essential for intracellular iron transport and highly expressed in rapidly dividing malignant cells. Developed by Perseus Proteomics, PPMXT002 demonstrates anti-tumor activity through two primary mechanisms: the inhibition of cell proliferation (likely via interference with iron metabolism) and the induction of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Preclinical studies in xenograft models have shown that PPMXT002 significantly inhibits the growth of various solid tumors, including bladder, colon, prostate, and pancreatic cancers.
