PPN3020 is a preclinical-stage radiopharmaceutical candidate being developed by CereMark Pharma as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent for the detection of alpha-synuclein aggregates. Alpha-synuclein pathology is a hallmark of several neurodegenerative disorders, collectively known as synucleinopathies, which include Parkinson's disease (PD), multiple system atrophy (MSA), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). PPN3020 is designed to bind specifically to these protein aggregates in the brain, allowing for non-invasive visualization and quantification via PET imaging. This capability is intended to support early diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and the monitoring of disease progression or therapeutic efficacy in clinical trials for synuclein-targeting treatments. As part of CereMark's pipeline, PPN3020 represents a next-generation tracer aimed at addressing the unmet need for reliable biomarkers in synuclein-related neurodegeneration.
