Overview

PPZ2 is a synthetic small molecule that functions as a **selective activator of TRPC3, TRPC6, and TRPC7 channels**. These are members of the **transient receptor potential canonical (TRPC) family** of calcium-permeable cation channels. PPZ2 is diacylglycerol (DAG)-activated and is used primarily in research to promote **neuronal development and survival** by facilitating calcium influx through TRPC channels. PPZ2 has also been used as a tool molecule in cell biology to study **Ca2+ signaling** and TRPC channel physiology[1][2][6].
