PQ401 is a small-molecule inhibitor of the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) tyrosine kinase. It acts as an ATP-competitive inhibitor, blocking ligand-induced receptor autophosphorylation and downstream PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling pathways. PQ401 has demonstrated antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic activity in various cancer models, including breast cancer, glioma, osteosarcoma, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Additionally, research has shown that PQ401 possesses antimicrobial properties, selectively disrupting bacterial lipid bilayers to kill multidrug-resistant and antibiotic-tolerant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA).
