Overview

PRA-027 is a progesterone receptor (PR) modulator developed as a potential therapeutic agent for conditions such as uterine leiomyoma (fibroids). It was initially developed by Pfizer, following acquisition of Wyeth. The drug has undergone clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (how the drug is absorbed, metabolized, and excreted), and pharmacodynamics (its biological activity in the body) in both cycling and postmenopausal women[2][1][4]. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the progesterone receptor[2].
