Overview

PRAME mRNA-based cancer vaccine is an investigational immunotherapy developed by Moderna in collaboration with Immatics. The vaccine utilizes messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to encode the PRAME (preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma) protein, a tumor-associated antigen frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors but with limited expression in normal tissues. By delivering the genetic instructions for PRAME, the vaccine aims to stimulate the patient's immune system to generate a robust T-cell response against cancer cells expressing the antigen. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials as a combination therapy with Immatics' IMA203, a T-cell receptor engineered T-cell (TCR-T) therapy, to potentially enhance the expansion, persistence, and clinical efficacy of the adoptive cell transfer.
