The combination of **pramlintide + insulin glargine** involves co-administration of two injectable antidiabetic agents. **Pramlintide** is a synthetic analogue of human amylin, a hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic beta cells, which works by delaying gastric emptying, suppressing inappropriate postprandial glucagon secretion, and increasing satiety, thus lowering postprandial glucose excursions[5][7]. **Insulin glargine** is a long-acting recombinant human insulin analogue that provides a steady basal insulin level to regulate fasting plasma glucose[4][6]. Pramlintide and insulin glargine must be administered as separate injections and should not be mixed due to incompatibility[5].
