Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pramlintide + semaglutide is an investigational **co-administration regimen** of two separately supplied peptide medicines: pramlintide, a synthetic amylin analog, and semaglutide, a long-acting glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist. Pramlintide complements semaglutide by slowing gastric emptying, suppressing inappropriate postprandial glucagon secretion, and promoting satiety, while semaglutide activates glucagon-like peptide 1 receptors to improve glycemic control and reduce energy intake. The exact regimen is not a marketed fixed-dose product. It has been reported in a case series of people with obesity and type 1 diabetes mellitus and is being evaluated in a registered obesity and prediabetes study.
