PramStat

PramStat is a long-acting amylin analog developed by Pramelix Therapeutics for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. It is a once-weekly injectable formulation of pramlintide, designed to provide sustained activation of the amylin receptor. As an amylin receptor agonist, PramStat mimics the physiological effects of endogenous amylin, which is co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic beta cells. These effects include the suppression of postprandial glucagon secretion, slowing of gastric emptying, and promotion of satiety via central nervous system pathways. By improving glycemic control and inducing weight loss, PramStat aims to address the limitations of current amylin therapies, such as the need for multiple daily injections. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in patients with Type 1 diabetes and obesity.
