Prasaprohyai

Prasaprohyai is a traditional Thai polyherbal formula primarily composed of *Kaempferia galanga* (sand ginger) along with nine other botanical ingredients. It is traditionally utilized in Thai medicine for the treatment of respiratory ailments and fever. Modern clinical development, led by Thammasat University, has focused on a 95% ethanolic extract of the formula for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. The extract contains bioactive compounds like ethyl-p-methoxycinnamate, which demonstrate potent anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties by inhibiting mast cell degranulation and reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. A Phase I clinical trial has been conducted to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 100 mg and 200 mg doses in healthy volunteers.
