PRAX-330

PRAX-330 is a small molecule, selective sodium channel modulator that was developed by Praxis Precision Medicines for the treatment of epilepsy. It was designed to target voltage-gated sodium channels (NaV), specifically NaV1.2 and NaV1.6, which are critical regulators of neuronal excitability and are often implicated in various forms of epilepsy. The compound entered clinical development with a Phase 1 single ascending dose (SAD) study in healthy adult volunteers (NCT05024058) to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile. However, in 2022, Praxis Precision Medicines announced a strategic decision to prioritize other assets in its pipeline, most notably PRAX-628, leading to the discontinuation of the PRAX-330 program.
