Overview
Prazspa-L is a combination oral medication containing levosulpiride (75 mg) and pantoprazole (40 mg), developed and distributed by Spansa Pharmaceuticals. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic indigestion (dyspepsia), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the gastric H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in parietal cells. Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent and atypical antipsychotic that acts as a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist and serotonin 5-HT4 receptor agonist, enhancing gastrointestinal motility and accelerating gastric emptying. Together, these components provide synergistic relief from acid reflux, heartburn, and associated gastrointestinal discomfort.
