PRDM-2 is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed by ARIZ Precision Medicine for the treatment of lung cancer. The program utilizes ARIZ's proprietary Targeted Drug Delivery System (T-DDS), a nanotechnology-based platform designed to deliver therapeutic payloads, such as small interfering RNA (siRNA), specifically to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. The drug targets the PRDM (PR domain-containing) family of proteins, specifically PRDM2 (also known as RIZ1/RIZ2). PRDM2 is an epigenetic regulator that exists in different isoforms, including the tumor-suppressive RIZ1 and the potentially oncogenic RIZ2; ARIZ's approach involves modulating these cancer-specific targets to inhibit tumor growth. As of 2024, the PRDM-2 program is in the in vitro proof-of-principle (POP) stage of development.
