pre-miR-204 is a precursor microRNA molecule that serves as a template for the production of mature miR-204, a small non-coding RNA involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation. In various malignancies, including endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma (EEC), miR-204 is frequently downregulated and functions as a tumor suppressor. The administration of synthetic pre-miR-204 (miRNA mimics) is an experimental therapeutic approach designed to restore miR-204 levels, thereby inhibiting oncogenic processes such as cell migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition.
