Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PreBioGyn is a prebiotic vaginal gel and delivery system developed to optimize vaginal health and reduce the risk of cervical cancer. The product is designed to restore and maintain healthy vaginal microbiota, stabilize pH levels, and support mucosal function, thereby preventing dysbiosis-induced inflammation and mucosal microtrauma—biological factors known to increase the risk of cervical cancer development. Developed through an NIH/NCI-sponsored Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, PreBioGyn has undergone clinical evaluation for user acceptability, sensory characteristics (such as lubricity and tackiness), and applicator usability compared to existing vaginal pH-buffering products. The system consists of a prebiotic gel formulation and a specialized intravaginal applicator designed for ease of use and effective dosing.
