Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PrecisionGel is a temperature-sensitive, biodegradable, injectable thermogel polymer platform consisting of poly(lactide-co-glycolide)-graft-(polyethylene glycol) (PLGA-g-PEG). Developed through a collaboration between Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Vivos, and Akina, the polymer is liquid at room temperature for ease of loading and injection, and rapidly transitions into a solid gel upon reaching body temperature to immobilize therapeutic agents at the target site. It serves as the polymer carrier component of Vivos' IsoPet and RadioGel radionuclide therapy products, which deliver localized beta radiation to cancerous tumors in animals and humans. PrecisionGel is also offered independently as a universal drug delivery carrier for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications requiring controlled local agent release.
