Overview

A combination therapy consisting of prednisolone (a corticosteroid) and tamoxifen (a non-steroidal antiestrogen). This combination has been studied in clinical trials for breast cancer treatment, particularly in postmenopausal women with operable breast cancer. While an early randomized clinical trial showed no significant additional benefit of adding prednisolone to tamoxifen as adjuvant therapy, more recent research suggests potential synergistic effects in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer cells, specifically with dexamethasone (another corticosteroid similar to prednisolone).
