It combines prednisolone acetate 1%, a synthetic glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory agent that activates the glucocorticoid receptor and suppresses ocular inflammatory responses, with phenylephrine hydrochloride 0.12%, an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist that constricts engorged ocular and eyelid blood vessels.
