Pregabalin + ropivacaine is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used primarily for the management of neuropathic and postoperative pain. Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant that binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing neurotransmitter release and decreasing abnormal nerve signaling associated with neuropathic pain. Ropivacaine is an amide-type local anesthetic that blocks voltage-dependent sodium channels on neuronal membranes, inhibiting nerve impulse conduction and providing local or regional anesthesia. The combination has been studied for enhanced analgesic effects in conditions such as post-traumatic trigeminal neuropathy and postoperative pain following spinal surgery, where it may provide superior pain relief compared to either agent alone[1][2][3][8].
