Pregaloy NT

Pregaloy NT is a fixed-dose combination tablet developed and marketed by Lloyd Healthcare, containing 75 mg of pregabalin and 10 mg of nortriptyline. It is primarily indicated for the management of various neuropathic pain conditions, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, spinal cord injury, and fibromyalgia. Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant, acts as an alpha-2 delta ligand that binds to the alpha-2 delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate and substance P. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, enhancing the descending inhibitory pain pathways in the brain and spinal cord. Together, these components provide a synergistic effect in modulating pain signals traveling through damaged nerves.
