Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pregvit is a prescription-only prenatal multivitamin and mineral supplement developed by Duchesnay. It is uniquely formulated as a two-tablet daily regimen, consisting of a pink morning tablet and a blue evening tablet, to optimize the absorption of its various components. The morning tablet contains iron and folic acid, while the evening tablet contains calcium; this separation is specifically designed to prevent calcium from inhibiting the gastrointestinal absorption of iron. Pregvit is indicated for use in women planning pregnancy, during pregnancy, and in the postpartum period to ensure adequate intake of essential nutrients, including 1.1 mg of folic acid to reduce the risk of neural tube defects.
