Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PregVit Folic is an oral prenatal and postpartum vitamin and mineral combination supplement developed by Duchesnay for women planning pregnancy, who are pregnant, or who have recently given birth. It is formulated as a two-tablet daily regimen with separate morning and evening tablets to reduce nutrient interactions, particularly between iron and calcium. The product contains high-dose folic acid together with other vitamins and minerals including cyanocobalamin, cholecalciferol, calcium, and iron, and is intended primarily to support maternal nutritional needs and help prevent fetal neural tube defects through folate supplementation rather than through a single receptor-mediated pharmacologic mechanism.
