PreserVision

PreserVision is a line of ocular nutritional supplements developed by Bausch + Lomb, specifically formulated based on the findings of the Age-Related Eye Disease Studies (AREDS and AREDS2) conducted by the National Eye Institute. The primary indication for these supplements is to reduce the risk of progression in patients with intermediate to advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The AREDS2 formulation, which is the current clinical standard, typically contains high doses of antioxidant vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, zinc, copper, lutein, and zeaxanthin. These components work synergistically to neutralize reactive oxygen species and provide essential nutrients to the macula, thereby slowing the degenerative processes associated with AMD. Unlike standard multivitamins, PreserVision contains specific levels of these nutrients that were clinically proven to be effective in large-scale clinical trials.
