Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PrevEp002 is a discovery-stage, multitarget small-molecule combination from PrevEp containing atorvastatin, ceftriaxone, and levetiracetam for prevention of epilepsy following brain injury, including post-traumatic and post-stroke epilepsy. The combination is intended to address epileptogenesis through complementary effects on glutamate transport, SV2A-mediated synaptic-vesicle regulation, lipid metabolism and neuroprotection, neuroinflammation, mTOR-associated signaling, and oxidative stress. PrevEp reports validation in two animal models and two species for post-traumatic epilepsy prevention; published mouse and rat studies describe this combination as TC-002 and report antiepileptogenic activity in acquired and post-traumatic epilepsy models.
