PrevEp005

PrevEp005 is a novel intravenous formulation of atorvastatin being developed by Prevep. It is designed to provide rapid statin therapy via the inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase, offering neuroprotective and cardiovascular benefits in acute clinical settings. The primary indications include the management of acute statin discontinuation in hospitalized patients, ischemic stroke, and acute coronary syndromes, where oral administration may be impractical or delayed. By inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the drug reduces cholesterol synthesis and exerts pleiotropic effects such as improved endothelial function and reduced inflammation.
