Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PrevOmega is a topical medical product containing hyperoxygenated fatty acids (AGHO) combined with botanical extracts such as *Aloe vera* and *Centella asiatica*. It is primarily indicated for the prevention of pressure ulcers and the management of skin integrity in high-risk patients. The formulation contains essential fatty acids, such as linoleic acid, which undergo a hyperoxygenation process to increase their oxidative polymerization. Upon application, PrevOmega improves cutaneous microcirculation, increases the partial pressure of oxygen in the tissue, and facilitates the renewal of epidermal cells. It reinforces the skin's lipid barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss and protecting the tissue from mechanical friction and ischemia. In surgical contexts, it is used to prevent surgical site infections and eventration at trocar sites by promoting rapid healing and maintaining tissue resistance.
