Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prexa-NT is an oral fixed-dose combination medication developed by Atro Pharma for the management of neuropathic pain. It contains two active small molecule ingredients: pregabalin (75mg) and nortriptyline (10mg). Pregabalin acts as an alpha-2 delta ligand, binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system to reduce the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, thereby enhancing descending inhibitory pain pathways. This synergistic combination is designed to alleviate chronic nerve pain, improve sleep quality, and support overall nerve health. It is typically administered once daily, preferably at bedtime.
