Overview

PRI-2191 is a **calcitriol analog** (vitamin D analog) that has been investigated for its antiproliferative effects in leukemia cells. Research has shown that PRI-2191 enhances the antiproliferative effect of imatinib on HL-60 cells and can synergize with certain chemotherapy agents. The compound appears to work by inducing cell cycle arrest, specifically causing accumulation of cells in the G0/G1 phase and decreasing the percentage of cells in G2/M and S phases. Notably, PRI-2191's antiproliferative effects are related to cell cycle arrest rather than apoptosis induction[1].
