Priaculin (WS 5550) is a standardized botanical extract derived from *Sideritis scardica* (commonly known as Greek Mountain Tea), developed by Dr. Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co. KG. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of cognitive impairment and potentially other central nervous system (CNS) disorders such as depression. The pharmacological profile of Priaculin is characterized by its action as a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor, meaning it inhibits the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. This mechanism is intended to enhance neurotransmitter levels in the synaptic cleft, thereby improving cognitive function and mood. Clinical development has progressed through Phase I safety and pharmacokinetic studies, including single and multiple ascending dose trials in healthy volunteers.
