Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PrimaGen Advanced Allograft is an allogeneic bone graft substitute developed by Zimmer Biomet and currently part of the ZimVie spine portfolio. It is a biologic product composed of a combination of cancellous bone and demineralized cortical bone fibers, enriched with viable donor cells including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), osteoprogenitor cells, and pre-osteoblasts. The product is a fresh frozen allograft that is cryopreserved using proprietary methods to maintain the endogenous components of native bone. It provides the three essential elements for bone healing: osteoconductivity (scaffold), osteoinductivity (growth factors), and osteogenicity (viable cells). PrimaGen Advanced is indicated for the repair, replacement, or reconstruction of musculoskeletal defects, serving as an alternative to autografts to avoid donor site morbidity.
