Primapur is a recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (follitropin alfa) used for the treatment of female infertility, particularly for controlled ovarian stimulation in assisted reproductive technologies. It is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells and is designed to be structurally and functionally comparable to originator follitropin alfa products such as Gonal-f, stimulating follicular growth by activating FSH receptors on ovarian granulosa cells to promote estrogen production and follicle maturation.[1][2][8] Developed and manufactured in Russia as a domestically produced rFSH preparation, Primapur has been evaluated in clinical pharmacokinetic and bioequivalence studies versus Gonal-f in healthy volunteers and women undergoing assisted reproductive treatment.[1][3][5]
