Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prime Bond NT is a light-cured, universal dental adhesive designed for bonding composite and compomer restorative materials to enamel and dentin, as well as to metals and ceramics. Developed by Dentsply Sirona, it utilizes Nano-Technology (NT) by incorporating nanofillers to enhance its physical properties and ensure a uniform, thin adhesive layer. The mechanism involves the infiltration of resin monomers into the etched tooth surface, creating a hybrid layer that provides a strong micromechanical bond. It contains PENTA (dipentaerythritol pentaacrylate monophosphate) as a functional monomer to promote adhesion to the tooth structure and cetylamine hydrofluoride to provide fluoride release. It is typically used in the total-etch technique, requiring a separate phosphoric acid etching step.
