Overview

PRL3-zumab is a first-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody that specifically targets phosphatase of regenerating liver 3 (PRL-3; also known as PTP4A3), an intracellular tumor-associated phosphatase upregulated in multiple human cancers, including gastric cancer and acute myeloid leukemia. Unlike most antibodies, which target extracellular proteins, PRL3-zumab binds to PRL-3 antigens that are externalized on the surface of cancer cells or present in exosomes. This binding recruits immune cells into the tumor microenvironment to mediate anti-tumor effects. Preclinical and early clinical studies have shown that PRL3-zumab reduces tumor growth, increases survival, and prevents recurrence in models of solid tumors expressing PRL-3. The drug has demonstrated safety and tolerability in phase I trials for advanced solid tumors and hematological malignancies[1][2][3][5][6].
